Polls results - Should only captains speak to referees?

April 10, 2008

Another poll and it’s about a topic which a couple of weeks ago was very hot indeed. Should only captains speak to referees? After the Ashley Cole and then Javier Mascherano incidents many in the sports media were asking for a change in the rules from the grass roots to the top meaning that only captains should speak to the men in black.

The vote was close with Yes just winning 5 to 4.

I don’t think that anything will change in the way that players speak the referees, it’s up to the top players at the top level to change their attitude and set a example to all.

The next poll is about the winner of the Champions League? Four left now which one?

Our next poll is on the weeks talking points, the behavior of players with the referee. After the Ashley Cole and then Javier Mascherano sending off yesterday the media any many fans are looking for a change in the rules so only the captains are allowed to speak to the referee, like in rugby.

So the new poll is - Should only captains speak to referees?
