Spurs chatting up Woodgate
January 25, 2008
BBC Sport and several newspapers are reporting that Middlesbrough centre-back Jonathan Woodgate is in talks with Tottenham Hotspur.
Also linked with Newcastle, Woodgate seems to be the life of the party talking to anyone willing to buy him drinks. Spurs are apparently close to sealing the deal, if you know what I mean.
Gus Poyet, resident Spurs assistant and Ramos wingman, admitted to BBC Radio 5 Live: “I hope they can get in touch with him and try to sort something out as he’s a great player.
“He is definitely one of the options we are looking for.”
BBC Tees reports that a fee has been agreed (with a pimp presumably) and only personal terms to be agreed upon
.
It’s only common sense that Ramos would want to see his players before he buys and he must remember Woodgate’s charms from when he reigned in Spain with giant-ego collection Real Madrid.
In all seriousness, this would be a good move for both Woodgate and Tottenham but I can’t see why it would be good for Boro. Shows what I know.
