Shearer-Keegan dream team off

January 25, 2008

Alan Shearer

Yes indeed, this partnership drawn up in the dreams of the toon army faithful will stay there apparently.

It’s just breaking news so I don’t have much to go on but with past clashes of ego and philosophy this was probably bound to happen anyway and they were all stringing along the fans to sell box office.

In order to settle their differences I suggest a charity boxing match between the two with the proceeds going to my retirement fund (or maybe some other worthwhile cause).

The Keegan Effect

January 16, 2008

As mentioned before, Kevin Keegan is back at Newcastle United. He didn’t take charge of tonights game and instead watched from the directors box. He did see Uriah Rennie being a spoon by not sending off John Eustace. Anyway Newcastle stomped away with a 4-1 victory over Stoke.

They were 1-0 up thanks to Micheal Owen by the time Emre was sent off, Claudio Cacapa made it 2-0 before half time. In the second half James Milner made it three and Damien Duff rounded it off with the final goal of the night. Former Sunderland player Liam Lawrence grabbed a late consolation goal.

So the reign of Kevin Keegan started well, and he didn’t even pick the team, maybe they won’t need to re-style the team as this advert from his first reign suggested.
