Euro 2008 Preview - Austria

May 28, 2008

Austria coach Josef Hickersberger stayed up into the night deciding on his 23-man squad for Euro 2008. Two players to be axed from the initial squad were midfielder Markus Weissenberger and striker Sanel Kuljic.

The co-hosts come into the tournament with an awful record of just one in the last 15 matches. Their squad only has a few two house hold names Alex Manninger and Emanuel Pogatetz. They also have attacking midfielder Ivica Vastic, who is set to be the oldest outfield player at the championships at the grand age of 38

There is pretty much no chance of the side winning, at 100/1 they are the least likely to win the tournament and will struggle in the group with Germany, Croatia and Poland.
