Manager of the Month Prizes Announced
February 28, 2008
Its the that time of the month again where those Managers whose sides have done well are awarded with a can of Stella and a kebab as a reward. Little do they know that the famous Manager of the Month curse is about to strike them and their side are sure to drop quicker than Jade Goody’s knickers!
In the Championship, Stoke’s Tony Pulis has been rewarded for guiding the Potters to top spot despite losing at lowly Preston last Tuesday night. No doubt they will have an eye on the Premiership and have not noticed that their fierce inter-city rivals Port Vale are banging on the door of the basement division.
League One sees Carlisle United’s John Ward pick up the monthly honour as his side claimed an automatic promotion place although still 12 points behind runaway leaders Swansea City. The Cumbrians won four out of their five matches in February as the former Cheltenham Town hero works his magic in a bid to secure Championship football next season.
Finally, the League Two accolade has been awarded to Lincoln City’s Peter Jackson who has seen his side launch a massive turnaround in February. Previously languishing at the foot of the table, Lincoln now enjoy a mid table position and even slight hopes of making it a staggering 5 play off seasons in a row if the run continues!
