Pressure is off Bristol City in race for the Premier League

March 13, 2008

Bristol City Manager Gary Johnson has stated that he believes the pressure is off his side in the Championship promotion race.

The Robins currently sit at the summit of the Championship and are looking to secure their second promotion in successive seasons with just eight games left.

Johnson has stated that in his view all the pressure is on Watford and West Brom to secure top flight status due to the fact that they have experienced this in recent times.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, he stated –

“They [Watford and West Brom] still have some Premier League players and the financial clout that former Premier League clubs have with the parachute payments to be competing. That is why they are the ones under pressure,”

It will be an incredible achievement for the ex Yeovil Town manager and just reward for opting against remaining at Huish Park on the back of two promotion campaigns there.

Winning is Everything wish the Robins the best of luck and feel that it will be them and Stoke City celebrating come early May!
